BOG WEEK

Éamon de Buitléar probably Irelands best known and well based Naturalist and filmmaker will open this years Bog Week. This annual event which takes place in the Quaker of village of Letterfrack will have its usual electric mix of music, art, wildlife and sport.

"This festival provides a space in which the whole community young and old can express themselves in a variety of different ways" says Leo Hallissey local teacher and festival director.

LEENANE

Leenane Curragh Racing

Traditional Curragh racing can be seen on Killary Harbour. Large numbers of people come to see teams of rowers compete on the fjord. The competitors travel from all along the West Coast to demonstrate their skill and prowess in the use of these ancient sea-fishing boats.

Annual Fundraiser in aid of ISPCC & Childline: Activities include, scuba-diving, kayaking, boat rides, raft race, pony rides, barbecue, children’s races and games, bouncy castle, tug o war, and sheaf throwing. A great fun day for all the family.
